A second-hand book market is held regularly in Nishi-Chiba. For this occasion, we designed and produced fixtures for a one-day photo exhibition held at the same time as the book market event. The venue was a park with a playground and the theme of the photographs also dealt with a park. In designing the installation, we thought we could make use of the large tree at the entrance and use the surface of the tree as a base for the artwork and make fixtures that appear like playground equipment that naturally blends into the park. The structure was simple, consisting of a series of lightweight, easy-to-carry assembled hula hoops fixed with a single pipe where the hula hoops were anchored by the tree roots, creating a simple and soft shape like playground equipment. On the fence dividing the park and the main road, a caption stand made of a bent circle was placed, emphasizing the relationship between the inside and outside of the park as well as the everyday.
